how we help

Nrani is a non-profit organization fully staffed with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, educators, and speech and physical therapists. These experienced professionals provide free therapeutic services to improve the development of cognitive, personal/social, motor and language skills. Nrani also provides counseling and education to help families cope and adapt to their child’s disability.

early intervention

90% OF A CHILD'S BRAIN GROWTH OCCURS BY THE AGE OF THREE. During these critical early years, vital learning in language acquisition, and sensory, emotional and mental development takes place. However, infants and toddlers born with disabilities or special needs such as Down's syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy, often suffer as their healthy development is compromised. They also miss the opportunity to learn during a state of maximum readiness. If the advantages of the most teachable moments or stages of greatest readiness are not taken, a child may have difficulty learning a particular skill later on in life. Therefore, the timing of intervention for infants and toddlers whose healthy development is jeopardized becomes particularly important. Early intervention programs provide specialized services by intervening early in a child's life in an effort to lessen the effects of the condition. These specialized services include therapy in a stimulating environment to enhance motor and language skills; support and education for the family to improve child-parent interactions; and positive social experiences to help integrate and advocate for their full participation in society.
